WWII German M35 Kriegsmarine Ex-Double Decal Helmet & Liner Set (ET66)
This is an original and complete WWII German M35 Kriegsmarine helmet set. Its original factory finish shows heavy combat-use. The wearer's left side is adorned with its original Kriegsmarine decal, while the right side's National Colors decal was scraped away. This was likely done around March 1940, coinciding with the order from German high command, directing the omission of National Colors decals from all helmets. The helmet's interior brim is size stamped ET66, along with the lot number of 4611, denoting production by the Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale factory. This is an exceptionally rare piece, given the significantly smaller size of the pre-war Kriegsmarine (when compared to the Heer or Luftwaffe). In fact, Eisenhüttenwerke, Thale was the only producer of M35 double decal Kriegsmarine helmets because the demand at the time was so limited. The helmet's interior features a faint 1939-dated dome stamp. Its original leather liner and chinstrap remain intact, however the liner is missing its drawstring and the chinstrap is damaged. The liner is marked with its original owner's surname, "Heindl". The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.
