WWII Fixed Loop Schlueter M1 Helmet Shell (1943)
This is an original mid-WWII U.S. Schlueter manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The helmet does not appear to have a legible heat stamp, however Schlueter produced this variety of helmet from only January 1943 to November 1943. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and one of its chinstraps. The remaining chinstrap is slightly torn and exhibits the flat brass buckle. There are no stress cracks, however there is surface rust throughout. Whether the new owner decides to match the helmet with a well-used liner or restores it with the proper chinstrap, it will make an excellent display piece.
