WWII Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (September 1943)

This is an original mid-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 623E dates the helmet's production to September 1943. It retains its original wartime field repaint, cork texture, and khaki chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits early brass hardware. The helmet has an indentation at the top and an inscription in the interior. This would be an ideal match for a liner with green painted steel A-washers.
