WWII U.S. Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (March 1942)
This is an original early-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 92C dates the helmet's production to March 1942. Located just to the left of the heat stamp are the veteran's initials "JLS", etched into the paint. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and khaki chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits early-war brass hardware. Its early style fixed loops are strong and intact, however there are a few stress cracks throughout. This helmet would be an ideal match for a liner with non-painted steel A-washers, including Hawleys and low pressure liners.
