This is an original early-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 204A dates the helmet's production to July 1942. It retains its original brush-applied field repaint, cork texture, and khaki chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits early brass hardware. The helmet's fixed loops are strong and intact. The shell's interior is stamped with the laundry number S-5503. The rear of the helmet showcases an interesting ripple flaw, formed during the production process, while the top of the helmet is dented from use.
