WWII Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (August 1942)
This original WWII U.S. McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell is in well-used condition. The heat stamp of 242A dates the helmet's production to August 1942. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and khaki chinstrap. The chinstrap features a brass buckle in the "raised bar" variety. The helmet's fixed loops are strong and intact. The rear of the helmet exhibits extensive surface rust, both inside and out. This helmet would pair very nicely with a high pressure helmet liner with non-painted steel washers.
