This is an original WWII U.S. M1 helmet set. The McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell is in great condition. The heat stamp is partially concealed beneath the helmet's scratched interior. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and khaki chinstraps. The straps feature early brass hardware. The helmet's fixed loops are strong and intact. There are no stress cracks. The helmet has recently been outfitted with an original early WWII transitional Inland manufactured helmet liner. The A-washers are anodized steel, dating the liner's production from late-1942 to early-1943. The khaki suspension has begun to fray near the front washer. The liner comes complete with an original size 7 1/8 Johnson & Johnson manufactured rayon headband and matching size "4" rayon neckband. The front of the liner has an additional hole, most likely created to affix an officer's rank device.
