This is an original early-WWII U.S. M1 helmet set. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell's heat stamp of 170A dates the helmet's production to June 1942. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and brass-buckled khaki chinstraps. The helmet's early style fixed loops are strong and intact, however the shell exhibits stress cracks throughout. The original early-WWII Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner has non-painted steel A-washers and folded ends on the neck support, dating the liner's production to late-1942. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original headband, neckband, and a recently installed green-buckled leather liner strap. The liner strap is unfortunately in poor condition and its sustained integrity cannot be guaranteed.
