WWII Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & St. Clair Liner (1942 Set)

WWII Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & St. Clair Liner (1942 Set)

This is an original early WWII M1 helmet set. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell's heat stamp of 387A dates the helmet's production to December 1942. It retains its original olive drab factory paint, cork texture, and brass-buckled khaki chinstrap. The helmet has recently been paired with an original early-WWII St. Clair manufactured low pressure M1 helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers and a Johnson & Johnson manufactured transitional suspension. These early features date the liner's production from late-1942 to early-1943. The liner comes complete with an original Scholl Manufacturing Co. neckband and a size 7 1/8 rayon headband. The liner's original textured factory finish was painstakingly recovered beneath a post-war repaint.
