WWII Camouflaged Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Rayon Westinghouse Liner (1942 Set)
This original early-WWII U.S. M1 helmet set's configuration makes it the ideal addition to any D-Day display. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop M1 helmet shell's heat stamp of 305B dates the helmet's production to October 1942. It retains its original olive drab factory paint, cork texture, and brass-buckled khaki chinstrap. The helmet's interior is slightly rust stained and there are a couple stress cracks at the rear. It has recently been outfitted with an original British manufactured 1/2" camouflage net and Westinghouse liner. The liner features non-painted steel rectangular washers, remnants of a stationary leather liner strap, and a first pattern rayon suspension, dating the liner's production to mid-1942. There is a small tear halfway through one of the suspension's triangular supports, however it is, overall, still strong and intact. The liner comes with an original rayon headband and size 4 neckband. The exterior's original matte factory finish is in excellent condition.
