This is an original WWII Airborne Command, 542nd PIR Ike jacket. All components are authentic and untouched. This size 38R jacket was manufactured by the Herman D. Oritsky Co. on December 4, 1945. While the jacket is not named, it can be discerned that the paratrooper who wore it was a combat veteran, who rose to the rank of sergeant, and transferred from the 76th Infantry Division to the Airborne Command, 542nd Parachute Infantry Regiment. He honorably served for three years, with six months overseas service. In addition to his parachutist badge, he earned a WWII Victory medal, five battle stars on his European African Middle-Eastern Campaign ribbon, a good conduct award, and a Combat Infantryman Badge. The jacket's parachutist badge is a sterling marked pinback, while the other components are clutchbacks. The camouflage parachute scarf is not included in this listing.
