This is an original WWII Airborne Command Ike jacket. All components are authentic, however the collar devices, oval, and jump wings were recently added by the former vendor. This size 36R jacket was manufactured by the Navytone Co. on December 5, 1945. The jacket is ID'd to a paratrooper from San Fransisco, California, Corporal Melvin L. Reabold, serial #39430379. He enlisted late in the war on February 7, 1945. The unassigned Parachute Infantry Regiment oval was carefully added by utilizing the original stitch holes left by the previous oval. The parachutist badge is a sterling marked pinback, the U.S. collar device is a clutchback, and the crossed rifles collar device is a screwback. The purchaser will receive a copy of Corporal Reabold's National Archives service record, located under the Product Info Section. The camouflage parachute scarf is not included in this listing.
