This is an original WWII 8th Air Force Division ID'd grouping consisting of an Ike jacket, two neckties, and pants. All components are authentic and untouched. This size 38L jacket was manufactured by the Fabric Garment Co. on June 2, 1944. It belonged to an airman from Nebraska, Technical Sergeant Kenneth R. Ahl, serial number 17038094. Ahl enlisted on December 27, 1941. He was a trained mechanic in the 8th Air Force Division, 490th Bomb Group, 849th Bombardment Squadron with three years service overseas before being honorably discharged. He was awarded the following pinback medals; Good Conduct, WWII Victory, American Campaign, European African Middle-Eastern Campaign, as well as a Presidential Unit Citation. The SSI is a British-made "stubby wing" silk patch. The purchaser will receive a copy of Tech. Sgt. Ahl's National Archives service record, a scanned passenger list from his return to the U.S., studio portrait, and newspaper article acquired directly from the veteran's son.
