Transitional Late-WWII 4-Hole Web Paratrooper Helmet Liner Chin Cup

Transitional Late-WWII 4-Hole Web Paratrooper Helmet Liner Chin Cup

This original WWII paratrooper helmet liner chin cup is in well-used condition. It is constructed of U.S.-stamped yellow herringbone material and, when issued, featured 4 zinc alloy eyelets per side - unfortunately one has since pulled away from the fabric. This variation's X stitching is quite unique in that it is more similar to the stitching seen on the earlier 5-hole examples, making this likely one of the first 4-holes ever produced. In fact, this chin cup is not mentioned to exist in either Helmets of the ETO or American Paratrooper Helmets. This rare chin cup would be an ideal match for a Westinghouse paratrooper liner.
