This original WWII Westinghouse manufactured M1 helmet liner is named to a Second Lieutenant Di Martile. It features green painted steel A-washers, dating the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. The liner retains its original Enger-Kress manufactured headband and a recently installed Bates Shoe Co. manufactured neckband. The headband's leather has stiffened and deteriorated over time. The liner's exterior exhibits its original olive drab factory paint finish.
