This is an original matching set of web chinstraps for the WWII U.S. M1 helmet. These appear to have been produced during a transitional period, as the flat buckle is steel, while the J-hook is brass. Each strap's OD#3 (khaki) webbing is somewhat soiled, showcasing their long history together as a set. The initials of its former owner, "R.T.", are marked on the longer strap. These were recovered from a McCord manufactured front seam swivel loop helmet, but would also be appropriate for comparable Schlueter manufactured examples. These haven't been cut, only their stitching has been undone, meaning these are still their original length.
