Late-WWII U.S. Swivel Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (1944 Set)
This original late-WWII U.S. M1 helmet set is in good, field-used condition. The McCord manufactured front seam swivel loop helmet shell's heat stamp is faint, and only "48I" remains visible. Given that the helmet still showcases a stainless steel rim meeting at the front, it likely dates from November 1943 to October 1944. It retains its original factory finish, cork texture, and OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps with a raised-bar buckle. The Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner features blackened brass A-washers, dating its production from mid-1944 to 1945. The liner comes complete with its original headband and neckband. The headband's leather has deteriorated somewhat with age. Atop the liner's original factory finish is a rust stain that matches one found in the steel shell's interior, showcasing their long history together as a set.
