Original Mid-WW2 U.S. Seaman Paper Co. M1 Helmet Liner (2nd Infantry Division) For Sale

Mid-WWII U.S. Seaman Paper Co. M1 Helmet Liner (2nd Infantry Division & ID'd)

This original mid-WWII Seaman Paper Co. manufactured M1 helmet liner is ID'd to Corporal Frederick D. Arledge, serial number 34996995. View the Veteran's Information Section for more details regarding Cpl. Arledge's life and military service. Atop the liner's original field repaint are two separate applications of original, hand-painted 2nd Infantry Division insignia. The green-painted steel A-washers date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. Interestingly, one of the A-washers was installed inverted, apparent by its concave presentation. The khaki suspension is intact, but unfortunately two snaps for the missing neckband have pulled away from the upper suspension. Its original headband is still in place. The liner's interior is marked with "F. D. Arledge 34996995" and "A-6995".
