Mid-WWII U.S.N. Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & International Molded Plastics Liner Set
This is an original mid-WWII U.S. Navy M1 helmet set, with a battleship grey-blue repaint. Beneath the repaint, at the helmet's front is stenciled "U.S.N.", with a small rectangular marking in yellow located just above, between the "U" and the "S". The rear of the helmet is stenciled with an "18". The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell's heat stamp of 440A dates its production to February 1943. The OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps exhibit a raised-bar brass buckle. The helmet has recently been paired with an International Molded Plastics manufactured helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers, dating the liner's production from late-1942 to mid-1943. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with an original headband and neckband. The liner's original factory finish is in good condition.
