Mid-WWII U.S. Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (1943 Set)
This is an original and well-used mid-WWII U.S. M1 helmet set. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell's heat stamp is concealed beneath the interior's field repaint, however judging by the later style fixed loops, it likely dates from June 1942 to November 1943. In addition to the original field repaint, the helmet retains its original cork texture and field-repaired steel-buckled OD#7 (green) chinstraps. One of the chinstraps is frayed near the loop. It has recently been paired with an original Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner in equally rough condition. The green-painted steel A-washers and khaki suspension date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The khaki suspension is fraying in one area, but remains intact. It comes complete with an original Scholl Manufacturing Co. headband and neckband. The liner's exterior exhibits its original factory finish.
