Original Mid-WW2 U.S. Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (1943 Set) For Sale

Mid-WWII U.S. Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (1943 Set)

This is an original mid-WWII U.S. M1 helmet set. If in need of an American helmet, representative of any branch of service from just before D-Day on to war's end, this is an ideal choice. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell has a heat stamp of 43B, however, given the 1943-style chinstrap hardware and later loops, there is likely a faintly-stamped digit in front of the 4. The helmet retains its original olive drab factory finish, cork texture, and flat steel-buckled OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps. It has recently been paired with an original Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner. The liner's original olive drab factory paint finish is well-worn. It features green-painted steel A-washers and folded ends on the neck support, which dates the liner's production to mid-1943. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with an original Metropolitan Shoe Makers, Inc. headband, neckband, and leather liner strap, with United Carr rivets and a slightly curved buckle. Like the helmet and liner, all of the accessories also date to 1943.
