This is an original U.S. WWII Mine Safety Appliances manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features green painted steel A-washers, which date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The Paul K. Weil Co. manufactured khaki suspension is strong and intact. The liner has recently been outfitted with an original Scholl Manufacturing Co. headband, Vogt manufactured neckband, and green buckled United Carr stamped leather liner strap. The liner's exterior exhibits its original factory olive drab paint finish and etched partial serial number. The rear of the liner is cracked. This would be an ideal liner for a helmet shell with a heat stamp ranging from 550 to 950.
