This is an original U.S. WWII Capac manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features green painted steel A-washers, which date the liner's production from mid-1943 to mid-1944. The Sun Shoe Co. manufactured khaki suspension is strong and intact. The liner has recently been outfitted with an original Jos. N. Eisendrath Co. headband, George Frost Co. manufactured neckband, and green-buckled leather liner strap, with United Carr rivets. The liner's original factory olive drab paint finish is in exceptional condition. This would be an ideal liner for a mid-war fixed loop helmet shell.
