Late-WWII U.S. Swivel Loop McCord M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner Set (Nov. 1944)
This original U.S. WWII M1 helmet set is in good, field-used condition. The McCord manufactured swivel loop helmet shell has a very faint heat stamp, however jundging by its transitional manganese steel rim meeting at the front, we can be certain it dates to approximately November 1944. It retains its original olive drab factory paint, cork texture, and OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps. The straps exhibit brass hardware and are fraying at the wearer's right swivel loop. The Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner features blackened brass A-washers, dating its production from mid-1944 to 1945. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with an original headband, neckband, and United Carr marked black-buckled leather liner strap.
