This original WWII U.S. McCord manufactured swivel loop M1 helmet shell is in good, used condition. The heat stamp of 879E dates the helmet's production to May 1944. Given the characteristics of helmets produced just after this one, it likely left the factory with OD#3 (khaki) chinstraps before undergoing a depot refurbishment. It features a brush-applied repaint and OD#7 (green) chinstraps. Interestingly, the straps are secured to the helmet's swivel loops via United Carr-branded snaps. This helmet would pair very nicely with a high pressure helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.
