Original Late-WW2 U.S. M1-C Airborne Paratrooper Rear Seam Helmet Shell (November 1944) For Sale

Late-WWII U.S. M1-C Airborne Paratrooper Rear Seam Helmet Shell (November 1944)

This is an original WWII McCord manufactured M1-C paratrooper helmet shell. It exhibits the ID of its prior owner and Korean War era veteran, Hunter Carroll, serial number 55365901. Unfortunately, post-war records are quite sparse, so we have not had much luck in identifying Carroll. There remains a substantial research opportunity for its new owner. To assist in that research, we originally sourced this helmet in Mesa, Arizona. It has a manganese steel rim meeting at the rear. The heat stamp of 1142A dates the helmet's production to November 1944. The helmet retains its original factory paint finish, cork texture, and OD#7 (green) para straps. This M1-C helmet shell would pair quite nicely with a Westinghouse paratrooper liner.
