Late-WWII U.S. M1-C Airborne Paratrooper Front Seam Helmet Shell (November 1944)
This is an original WWII McCord manufactured M1-C paratrooper helmet shell. It is in quite rough condition, however enough details remain to indicate what it once was. It is a transitional example, with a manganese steel rim meeting at the front. The heat stamp of 1108H dates the helmet's production to November 1944. The helmet retains its original rusty paint, cork texture, and just a piece of its factory-applied OD#7 (green) para strap. This M1-C helmet shell would pair quite nicely with an Inland or Westinghouse paratrooper liner.
