Late-WWII U.S. Leather Liner Strap With Black Brass Buckle
This is an original late-WWII leather liner strap. The leather has conformed to the shape of a helmet's brim, but remains soft and pliable. It features a blackened brass buckle as well as United Carr rivets. The buckle's underside is slightly covered in verdigris, but does not appear to be marked with a patent number, dating its production from mid to late-1944. This would be an ideal strap for a high-pressure helmet liner with blackened brass A-washers.
