This is an original late-WWII German manufactured M42 helmet. The inside brim is size stamped hkp66, lot number 15475, denoting 1944 assembly by the Sachsichse Emaillierwerke, Lauter factory. This helmet showcases its original slate grey textured finish and would have left the factory after the cessation of decal application, making it appropriate for either a Heer or Waffen SS display. The interior retains its original leather liner, chinstrap, and drawstring. The chinstrap exhibits a steel buckle and RBNr. marking. The helmet's split pins and washers are all original and show no signs of tampering.
