Early-WWII Westinghouse M1 Helmet Liner With Rayon Suspension

Early-WWII Westinghouse M1 Helmet Liner With Rayon Suspension

This is an original early-WWII Westinghouse manufactured M1 helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers and a first pattern rayon suspension, dating the liner's production to mid-1942. The Paul K. Weil Co. manufactured rayon suspension is strong and intact. It has recently been completed with an original, faintly-stamped size 3 neckband and a size 7 1/8 rayon headband. The liner is free of any cracks. It would display quite nicely when paired with a mid-1942 fixed loop helmet shell.
