This is an original early-WWII Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner. It features non-painted steel A-washers and a first pattern rayon suspension, dating the liner's production to mid-1942. The rayon suspension is frayed, but intact. One of the United Carr snaps on the liner's original headband has pulled away from the rayon material. I have elected to keep the headband in place, rather than replace it with a non-damaged example, since both the headband and neck suspension are marked with the laundry number G-2655. The khaki neckband is also original to the liner. There are a couple small cracks throughout. This liner would display quite nicely when paired with a mid-1942 fixed loop helmet shell.
