This is an original matching set of U.S. WWII helmet shell chinstraps. They were recovered from a German M35 helmet (not included) that was altered by a G.I. The straps haven't been cut, only their stitching has been removed, meaning these are still their original length. They were, however, riveted into the German helmet, resulting in holes where the bartacking would be. These could be cut shorter in order to remove the section affected by the rivets. The J-hook strap exhibits a field modification commonly seen on early-war fixed loop helmets; the bartacking has been partially plucked in order to allow the straps to be secured around the rear of a helmet. These aforementioned flaws have resulted in a 50% price reduction.
