Early-WWII USMC Camouflage Helmet Cover
This is an original WWII U.S. Marine Corps camouflage helmet cover. It features the distinctive double-chain center stitching and zig-zag border stitching on the beach side. It is still in its wartime configuration, with no Eagle Globe & Anchor stampings on either side of the cover. This variation, with the buttonhole slits in the body as well as the flaps, is often referred to by collectors as a 'third pattern' cover, but in actuality was the first type, produced in 1942. This cover is in great condition. Cuts for the helmet shell's chinstraps to pass through haven't been created.
