Early-WWII U.S. M1 Helmet Liner Headband (Double Wire)
This original WWII headband's manufacturer's marking has unfortunately faded beyond legibility. It features the 'double wire' buckle variation and the earliest style spring-clips, which dates the headband's production to early-1942. The leather has darkened with use, but is still intact and pliable. It is marked with its original owner's laundry number, "R-0101". This would be an ideal headband for all helmet liners with non-painted steel A-washers (including Hawleys and low-pressure liners).
