Early-WWII U.S. Fixed Loop McCord M1 Helmet Shell (December 1942)
This is an original early-WWII U.S. McCord manufactured fixed loop M1 helmet shell. The heat stamp of 387A dates the helmet's production to December 1942. It retains its original, but slightly rusted factory paint, cork texture, and OD#3 (khaki) chinstrap. The chinstrap exhibits a brass buckle, of the "raised-bar" variety. Pairing this helmet with an early-war liner will make for an excellent display piece.
