Early-WWII U.S. Fixed Loop M1 Helmet & Westinghouse Liner (ID'd Set)
This original early-WWII U.S. M1 helmet is ID'd to Army Air Corps veteran Paul A. Feldman, serial number 12235072. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell has a heat stamp of 346B, dating its production to November 1942. The helmet retains its original olive drab field repaint, cork texture, and brass-buckled khaki chinstraps. Embedded in the finish are hairs from the paint brush that was used to apply the repaint. The Westinghouse manufactured liner's original olive drab factory finish is in excellent condition. It features non-painted steel A-washers and an OD#3 (khaki) suspension, dating the liner's production from late-1942 to mid-1943. The khaki suspension is strong and intact. It comes complete with its original headband, flat green-buckled leather liner strap, and a recently installed neckband.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on February 23, 1945 - just a few months before the conclusion of the war. Made available to the new owner, below, are Feldman's records from the National Archives, however there is still plenty of research to do!
