This is an original untouched U.S. WWII helmet set. The McCord manufactured front seam fixed loop helmet shell's heat stamp of 198A dates its production to June 1942. It retains its original factory paint, cork texture, and khaki chinstraps. The straps exhibit an early cast brass buckle, carried-over from the M1917-A1 helmet. The Westinghouse manufactured helmet liner features steel rectangular washers, remnants of a stationary leather liner strap, and a first pattern rayon suspension, dating its production to early-1942. The liner comes complete with its original rayon headband. The headband and neck suspension have torn snaps. The liner's exterior showcases its original factory olive drab paint finish. There are stress cracks throughout the helmet and damage at the rear of the liner.
