Early-WWII Hawley M1 Helmet Liner (Restoration Candidate)
This original early-WWII Hawley manufactured M1 helmet liner would serve as the ideal restoration candidate for the collector looking for a challenge. The liner retains non-painted aluminum rectangular washers and remnants of a first pattern rayon suspension and stationary leather liner strap, dating the liner's production from mid-1941 to mid-1942. Three washers are missing, however the body of the liner is in surprisingly good condition with no enlarged rivet holes. The rim is cracked and torn throughout. The rear stencil is original, however its significance is unknown. This liner would pair quite nicely with an early-war McCord helmet.
