Early-WWII German Kriegsmarine Dienstglas 10x50 E. Leitz Wetzlar Binoculars
This is an original pair of WWII German Kriegsmarine dienstglas 10x50 binoculars. They were produced by Ernst Leitz in Wetzlar, Germany. Their serial number of 129929 and brass construction indicates early-WWII production. The "M" stamping located to the left of the serial number means these were intended for the Kriegsmarine, and in fact were quite popular among U-Boat crews. The original neck strap is constructed of a web material, as opposed to leather, as leather would deteriorate at sea. The H/6400 marking denotes the presence of a range-finding reticle in the user's right-hand lens. These binoculars are in good, used condition, with quite clear optics given their age.
